5 Broadgate is to be The world class office headquarters for financial services firm UBS will house up to 6,000 staff and include four state-of-the-art trading floors to accommodate up to 750 traders per floor. The scheme represents a further stage in the successful evolution of the Broadgate office estate and allows UBS to consolidate its trading operations into one building, resulting in the retention of one of the world’s leading investment banks in the heart of the City of London.

MEP Hire set up a Satellite store at the UBS site to maintain a constant supply of Low Level Access Equipment to the Heating & Ventilation Contractors. We also supplied a variety of Specialist equipment. With our expertise we could offer our customers a quick response to any issues they faced.

Offering onsite IPAF & PASMA Training, Toolbox talks as well as mobile engineers keeping the equipment fully operational. Our customers also had total access to our vast specialist fleet of Hire Equipment.

The 61,000-seat stadium will be the largest-capacity football ground in the capital when it opens in 2018.

It will include what is believed to be the longest general admission bar in a UK stadium as well as heated seats, a micro-brewery and an in-house bakery.

The ambitious plans for the ground and its surrounding area include a dramatic ‘sky walk’, inspired by Sydney Harbour Bridge, that will allow fans to climb to the roof of the stadium as well as a new public square, hotel and extreme sports facility.

The new £840m South Glasgow University Hospital, built by main contractor Brookfield Multiplex Construction, represents the culmination of many years’ planning and implementation. The hospital is not only Scotland’s largest-ever building, with an area equivalent in size to 11 football pitches, it constitutes one of the largest hospitals and reinforced concrete frames ever built in Europe. Covering some 1.72m sq ft and circa 2,000 rotary-bored concrete piles, the hospital also boasts an atrium large enough to house Nelson’s column.

Its footprint is some 3.5 ha compared with Trafalgar Square’s 1 ha. The project, which reached practical completion at the end of January, involved the construction of a multi-storey adult hospital and a 256-bed children’s hospital with supporting laboratory facilities.

The hospital is currently being rebuilt at a cost of £335m and the new site is expected to open in summer 2017. Carillion plans to build the major hospital next to the current hospital, with the project scheduled to open in 2017. Crown House is expected to take the significant M&E package under a contract management agreement.

The new Royal will be the largest hospital in the country and one of very few NHS hospitals to provide all single en-suite bedrooms for patients, improving privacy and dignity for patients, helping to reduce infection risks. Carillion plans to build the major hospital next to the current hospital, with the project scheduled to open in 2017. MEP Hire Has been involved in supplying, MEWP Low Level Access, Press Tools, Threading Equipment and many other Specialist Hire Products on to This Carillion site. As a multi-national company we are able to focus on this contract, making adequate stocks of specialist products available as and when needed.

MEP Hire have been supplying MEWPS, Press Tools & other Specialist Hire Products on to the London Bridge Quarter Project, and we have been heavily involved with working closer with our customers to deliver the correct equipment when needed. Working with end-users to establish their requirements, we have been extending our fleet of equipment to meet the demands on Site.

Positioned next to The Shard, it is often referred to as the ‘baby shard’! The two buildings stand loud and clear in forming a strong and compelling corporate statement for London’s newest commercial quarter. Despite being shorter than The Shard, The Place has its own architectural challenges, such as the cantilever structure of the building, which will require a 2.4m diameter pile, one of the largest of its type in London.

Work has begun to convert London’s landmark Centre Point building into luxury flats.

MEP Hire have onsite presence on this prestigious redevelopment, for their Low Level access, and associated equipment for the Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing Trades such as: Pipe Threaders, Roll Groovers & Press Tools. Our logistics team will also have 2 delivery / collection slots per day as well as a dedicated on site team to deal with our Customer’s requests & requirements. We can offer our Customers full access to our Training Department, who can offer IPAF & PASMA Training on site (certain conditions apply).
