Achilles UVBD
The utilities market is fast moving, subject to ever more stringent regulation and new technologies. UVDB is the utility industry pre-qualification system used across the UK. Working closely with key buying organisations in the sector, this community helps them achieve the highest standards of supply chain assurance.
CHAS
CHAS helps clients and contractors ensure compliance across the different areas of risk management, and mitigate risks across the supply chain. Accreditation helps businesses achieve compliance, mitigate supply chain risks and support efficient supply chain management.
Construction Online Gold Member
Used by the construction industry in the UK. The database is accessed by over 2000 organisations including central government, local authorities and main contractors.
Constructionline helps both sides of the deal bypass typical problems associated with the tender process, saving everyone time, money and hassle in the process.
Cyber Essentials Plus
We have been awarded Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+). Cyber Essentials is based on five essential security controls that can help organisations prevent common cyber attacks.
These controls are:- Use strong passwords and multi-factor authentication
- Keep software up to date
- Install and use a firewall
- Segment your network
- Monitor and log all activity.
By undertaking and completing Cyber Essentials Plus, we can declare publicly, that the organisation has been proven to meet baseline security standards set out by Cyber Essentials.
The FIS
MEP Hire is proud to be an accredited member of the FIS, the industry’s top representative body for the £10 billion fit-out, finishes and interiors sector.
FORS Gold
FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) is an accreditation that is designed to improve a company’s fleet activity throughout the UK. FORS encompasses all aspects of safety, efficiency, and environmental protection by encouraging and training fleet operators to measure, monitor and improve performance.
FORS accreditation is designed to:
- Recognise and reward excellence in fleet management
- Raise standards.
HAE SafeHire
The SafeHire Private Standard was developed and written with the assistance of BSi - The British Standards Institution; HSE - Health and Safety Executive and CHAS - Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme with CHAS being fully committed to the principles of SSIP – Safety Schemes in Procurement.
Achievement of the standard is dependent upon successful assessment and, unlike other quality standards, on-site verification of policies and management systems for:
- Corporate Social Responsibility
- Health, Safety and Welfare
- Occupational Health
- Environment and Sustainability
- Quality Business Risk, Insurance and Financial Control
- Document Control and Data Protection
- HR and Employment Law compliance.
Hire Association Europe
HAE EHA, often referred to as The Hire Association by its members, is a Birmingham-based industry-leading trade association for the plant, tool, equipment and event hire sectors with membership representing businesses from new startups to some of Europe’s largest hire companies.
The aim of the Hire Association is to protect, support, and build successful businesses, set and improve standards, safeguard end-users, hirers and contractors through our commitment to skills, standards and sustainability.
IPAF Rental Plus
IPAF Rental+ provides assurance at every stage of the Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) hire/rental process, ensuring you are choosing a company with the highest standards and best practice in the powered access industry. It’s proof our business has been independently audited and meets rigorous standards of training, equipment inventory and customer satisfaction.
To gain IPAF Rental+ certification, you must meet and pass the following:
- IPAF Hire Requirements – IPAF Core Criteria.
(Based upon regulatory and best practice in the industry driven by the ISO 9001:2015 standard)
- Health & Safety Assessment – SSIP Core Criteria (UK only).
(Based upon PAS91, which is a standard prequalification questionnaire for the construction industry in the UK, underpinned by relevant legislation)

LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association) is an established brand across the world and is the leading representative body for all those involved in the lifting industry worldwide.
LEEA are the most respected and authoritative body for its members who work in every area of the industry including:
- Design
- Manufacture
- Refurbishment and repair
- Hire
- Maintenance
- Use of lifting equipment.
PASMA
PASMA (the Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association) is the most focused and foremost authority for mobile access towers. As such PASMA is constantly advancing safety standards along with the best practices across a broad range of sectors.
Pooling efforts from various trade professionals, industry regulators and key decision makers PASMA fulfils a distinct set of roles:
- Provide and govern the industry’s training scheme for mobile access towers, including the standard at which the training conforms
- A single, centralised source of information on every aspect of mobile access towers
- Sponsor research into further advancing safety at heights with most, if not all, of the available technical and training advice was created - using PASMA and its specialists committees
- PASMA is at the forefront of contributing (along with HAE) important developmental aspects to the standards that govern the construction, use, inspection and maintenance of all mobile access towers but nationally and internationally.
Plant Charter Gold
We are proud to announce that we have recently achieved Gold Status for the Supply Chain Sustainability School’s (SCSS) Plant Charter. The SCSS is an online learning platform aiming to develop skills to deliver a sustainable built environment. Their Plant Charter is a set of minimum standards evaluating one’s commitment to reducing carbon emission and air pollution.
Our achievement of the highest award, Gold, demonstrates our excellence in combatting air pollution and carbon emissions through our high standards in procurement, stakeholder engagement, training and innovation. It is a priority for us to accelerate our transition away from rental assets powered by fossil fuel and towards those powered by battery and solar as well as non-powered products.RISQS

RoSPA Gold Medal Award
The internationally recognised RoSPA Health and Safety Awards are the most sought after accolade by organisations from every sector.
The judging panel considers entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement. Every year, almost 2,000 entrants strive to achieve the highest possible accolade in what is the UK’s longest-running health and safety industry awards.
RoSPA Fleet Safety Award
The RoSPA Fleet Safety Awards offer a means of benchmarking fleet performance. MEP Hire is pleased to have attained Gold status.
Following RoSPA’s Managing Occupational Road Risk (MORRTM) principles, these awards are judged on verifiable historical performance data of accidents and the identification of an effective, cohesive corporate road risk management programme.
Supply Chain Sustainability School
Supply Chain Sustainability School are dedicated to advancing sustainability practices across the built environment industry.
Launched in 2012, the Supply Chain Sustainability School is an award-winning FREE virtual learning platform around sustainability, with the aim to upskill those working within, or aspiring to work within, the built environment sector.
